Hosting a CUG Conference
The Cray User Group (CUG) Technical Conference goal is to provide a forum for insightful presentations by HPC experts, as well as valuable technical sessions, tutorials, and demonstrations. It also facilitates member discussions around current experiences, projected trends, and enables productive collaboration opportunities with sessions led by special interest group leaders, Cray technical staff, and other members of the Cray User Group.
There is a significant amount of visibility that is associated with the hosting of a CUG Technical Conference. The host organization is the center of a stronghold of technical expertise and information exchange.
If your site is interested in hosting a CUG Conference:
- Check with the CUG President or Treasurer (board@cug.org) to learn the next available open dates. These are usually 2 to 3 years out.
- Confer with your management on the policies and limitations for sponsoring such a meeting.
- Determine how the site wants to structure the details (finances, personnel, equipment, etc)
- Send a letter to the CUG President offering your site as host for a specific conference.
The "Guidelines for a CUG Meeting" contains detailed information on hosting a CUG Conference, and are in the Members Only realm of cug.org. A copy can be provided if not yet a member.
