T3E Workshop

Workshop Goals

The Cray T3E has been an outstanding success in the field of massively parallel computation. What are these successes? What is the future for these machines and codes? The Workshop will feature applications, software updates, and plans for the future. Application Programmers, Managers, and System Administrators should attend.
Where and When

The Cray User Group T3E Workshop will be held in Princeton, New Jersey on October 7 and 8, 1999. It will begin with a reception on the evening of October 6th and there will be a workshop dinner on October 7th. Sponsors for the Conference are CUG, Cray Research/SGI and IDA Center for Communicatons Research, Princeton.

Registration

Please come to the registration area outside the Nassau A and B meeting rooms in the Nassau Inn to pick up badges and pay registration fees. Office hours are:

    Wednesday, 7–8 PM
    Thursday, 7 AM–4 PM
    Friday, 7:30 AM–Noon

Registration fees for the meeting are

  • $195 for CUG Members
  • $695 for the first person from a non-member site ( includes a membership in CUG for one year, January 1, through December 31, 2000)
  • $195 for additional attendees from non-member sites.

>>>Your registration fee includes a continental breakfast and lunch on both workshop days. In additon, you are invited to attend a reception the night before the workshop (sponsored by Cray Research/SGI) and dinner Thursday evening (sponsored by CUG).

The meeting will be one-track for two days starting at 8:30 on Thursday, October 7th. Planned sessions include:

    User Applications
    Tutorials
    Optimization
    Roadmap and Software Update
    Scheduling on the T3E
    Libraries and other third party projects

The meeting will be held at the Nassau Inn in Princeton, N.J. which is located in downtown Princeton.

The room rate is $115 if rooms are reserved by September 6th.

Travel to Princeton

You can fly to either Newark Airport or Philadelphia Airport. Other New York City airports are also possible. Many car rentals are available at these airports. A shuttle service, Airporter, is available at all Newark Terminals. Advance reservations are suggested [telephone (1-609) 587-6600] but reservations can be made upon arrival at the Ground Transportation Center (last pick-up 10:30 PM). You won't need a car in Princeton but parking is available adjacent to the hotel.

Local Information

There are many other research and business companies in the area but no industry.
