General Tourist Information |
The Netherlands Bureau of Tourism (NBT) provides a huge amount of up-to-date information about cities, trips, museums, and events in The Netherlands. If you are the sporting type and want to discover Holland by bike, you can browse www.tribute.nl/nbt/fietsen. By the way, "fiets" (pronounced "feets") is the Dutch word for bicycle. This site contains some interesting cycling routes, for instance a route around Noordwijk and one in Amsterdam. Bikes can be rented from Tweewielercentrum Mooijekind, Schoolstraat 98, Noordwijk, (31-71) 3612826. If you want to know how the Dutch language sounds or how to pronounce simple phrases in Dutch go to the site of the Dutch foreign office and choose 'International Home page', then 'Coming to the Netherlands' and finally 'What does Dutch sound like?'. Regrettably we can not offer you what Holland feels or smells like. |
